"The Night is Around the Corner"
In life's fragile, flickering flame,
The night, a stealthy thief, creeps silently to claim.
With whispered breath, she steals the light of day,
And in her darkening grasp, our loved ones fade away.
Like golden petals, delicate and bright,
They rustle, then are swept into endless night.
Their laughter echoes still, a haunting, ghostly refrain,
As we, who remain, are left to weep, and love in vain.
Oh, cruel night, how you snatch our treasures from our sight,
Leaving us with memories, and a longing that cannot take flight.
You creep into our lives, a silent, darkening shroud,
And in your wake, our hearts are left to bleed, and our souls to cloud.
Yet, even as you lurk, a menacing, unseen guest,
We must cherish every moment, and love with all our breast.
For in the fleeting light of day, our time is short, and brief,
And when you come, oh, night, we must not have a single, bitter leaf.
So let us live, and love, and laugh, and never let our hearts grow cold,
For in the warmth of human touch, our love will never grow old.
Let us treat each other kind, and with compassion, gentle, and true,
For when the night descends, and our loved ones are gone from view.
We'll weep, and mourn, and miss them, with a grief that's hard to bear,
But in the memories we've made, our love for them will still be there.
And though the night may take them, and leave us to our pain,
We'll hold on to love's bright light, and cherish every moment we remain.
