THE LENSES OF YESTERDAY AND TOMORROW
by SIMU
A Reflection from the SIMU Collection.
You sometimes need to see through the lens of yesterday
and the quiet promise of tomorrow
to understand the true focus of today.
Because today, on its own,
is blurry
a moment too close to the eye,
too loud, too immediate,
too wrapped in the noise of now
to reveal what it truly means.
Yesterday gives shape.
It casts its shadows,
lays down its lessons,
whispers the truth of where we’ve been
and what we refuse to repeat.
It sharpens today by reminding us
of the roads we’ve walked barefoot,
the storms that bent us,
and the strength we never knew we earned.
Yesterday is the anchor
that steadies the trembling frame of now.
Tomorrow gives direction.
It leans forward with silent invitation,
beckoning us to imagine beyond the fog.
It sharpens today by offering hope,
possibility, purpose
a reason to move,
a reason to breathe with intention,
a reason to rise even when the ground feels heavy.
Tomorrow is the compass
that aligns the wandering lens of the present.
And when these two lenses align
the clarity of where we’ve been,
the vision of where we’re going
today suddenly comes into focus.
Not as confusion.
Not as pressure.
But as the bridge between meaning and becoming.
To see today clearly,
you must look through the memory of yesterday
and the promise of tomorrow.
Only then does the present
stop being a blur
and start becoming a revelation.
