LOST LOVE.
In the halls of youth, where whispers stay,
Two hearts lingered, lost in the fray.
Fearful of love that never was claimed,
He held back, feeling unworthy, ashamed.
Years have passed, and lives diverged,
In cities apart, their fates submerged.
Now they meet, paths crossed once more,
His heart speaks of words left ignored before.
"I’ve loved you always," he softly confides,
"Regret's shadow in my heart resides.
I thought you were far beyond my reach,
Too high a star for me to beseech."
He speaks of songs that carry her name,
Of a love unspoken, an untended flame.
"I judged you wrongly, let fear decide,
What we could have had, love denied."
Her heart stirs, old feelings revived,
A love long buried, now alive.
But his ring shines, a vow in gold,
A bond that time and words can’t fold.
Temptation calls, her soul is torn,
Between the love that’s newly born,
And the truth that he is bound to another,
Leaving her in a web to smother.
She fears to act, yet can’t ignore,
The love she feels, longing for more.
A dilemma of hearts, in silence they pine,
For a love that exists, just out of time.
