The executive chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, has provided the Nigerian Forest Security Service with an office at the old Potiskum secretariat, where they are now working as a zonal division.
The executive chairman provided them with the office to improve and enhance the work of providing security and protection to the forests and wildlife under the jurisdiction of Potiskum Local Government Area for the betterment of the good people of Potiskum LGA.
Having gotten a well-equipped office that functions as their zonal division in the old secretariat, they are now working peacefully day or night without any interruption or seeking cooperation from any security agencies to carry out their duties.
After handing over the office to them, the chairman also built a mosque for them and provided them with a pavilion and solar street light outside the office to spread out and sit in peace while carrying out their duties.
DC Admin Mohammed Kani of the officers' unit commended the chairman for providing this office to their officers.
"We are using this opportunity to commend the esteemed chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, for providing our NFSS staff with a spacious office in the old abandoned secretariat after it's restoration.
"This office that he has provided us with has indeed become a source of encouragement for us because out of the 17 local government areas of Yobe State, no local government has a spacious office like ours, which is currently the Zonal Division of the NFSS, that's serves the four southern local government areas of Yobe State." He said
He also added that their work is related to admonishing the community to refrain from engaging in activities that will endanger the environment.
"The existence of our work is effective in protecting the community from the threat of environmental pollution, which is effective in improving social welfare and promoting peace in the community. We have strengthened our work of environmental protection after getting this office." He added
