SO DARK!!!

I once disdained light,
Complained that it was too bright.
The sun stung my eyes,
And I'd become irritated.

A flashlight would irk me,
Yet I'd spend hours on phone,
Watched movies nonstop,
With my phone at it's brightest.

Then I woke up one day,
To find everywhere black,
I was so terrified of the dark.
Searched high and low,
But I could not find the light.

The sun rose as usual,
I could feel its scorch on my skin,
Yet my eyes was not stung.
I tried to look at the sky,
But it was still dark.

I could hear hustles and bustles,
But I could only imagine…
It's so ironic,
That I once disdained light.

Yet, I now yearn for it,
I never stop searching,
Hoping to find the light again…
