They want to dine at the table
but never commit to the house.
So they visit hearts
like tourists
take pictures,
leave memories,
never stay long enough
to build anything that lasts.
And you,
you start shrinking your standards
to fit their comfort.
You start calling confusion connection,
calling delay depth,
calling absence space.
But space without purpose
is just distance in disguise.
Let me say this slowly
If it has no name,
it will have no direction.
If it has no direction,
it will end in destruction.
Because anything undefined
will eventually decline.
You cannot keep someone
in a place you cannot name.
That is not love
that is emotional detention.
And some of us
are serving life sentences
in relationships that were never alive.
You say “we are still figuring it out”
but time is not your therapist.
Time does not heal what truth refuses to reveal.
Call it what it is
or leave it where it is.
Because when something is real
it does not fear definition.
