We met in a space that had no name,
just vibes, just late nights, just “let’s see how it goes.”
No label, no table, just crumbs we called connection.
You said, “Let’s not complicate things.”
So we complicated souls instead.
We were together, but not tethered.
Close enough to feel,
far enough to deny.
Situationship
a relation without real action,
a courtship that fears hardship,
a connection allergic to correction.
You held my hand in private,
but dropped my name in public.
Gave me attention,
but never intention.
You liked me,
but you did not life me.
And I stayed.
Stayed because almost felt like enough.
Stayed because maybe sounded like yes.
Stayed because silence sometimes dresses like peace.
But peace is not confusion wearing calm clothes.
We built something
without foundation,
just feelings and assumptions,
just chemistry without covenant.
We were talking,
but not walking anywhere.
You see,
some people want the benefits of belonging
without the burden of becoming.
They want access
without accountability,
affection
without direction.
