Hello guys,

Let's start the new month on a good note

Happy New Month to you all.

Self-love isn't about wearing the finest dresses.
It’s not in the perfect makeup
Or the best pair of shoes.

Self-love doesn’t seek validation
From what others see—
It honors what you see.

What you know.
What you accept.
About yourself.

It’s looking in the mirror and saying,
“Damn, you look good.”

It’s seeing a dress and thinking,
My body made this look great.

It’s caring for yourself
The way you deserve to be cared for.

You can’t pour love
From an empty self.
You can’t give what you don’t own.

Self-love isn’t selfish.
It’s soul kindness.
It’s self-awareness.
It's caring for yourself.
It’s noticing yourself—
Even when no one else does.

You don’t need their yes
To say yes to you.
You need your own permission
To become your own peace.

Self-love is:
Kindness to yourself.
Forgiving yourself.

Being you.
Loving you.
Accepting you.

No one will:
Love you.
Forgive you.
Uplift you.
Respect you—
If you don’t first do it for you.

Self-love is acknowledging your wins.
Owning your losses.
That’s how you build:
Relationships.
Friendships.
Marriages.

Even God said—
Love your neighbor as you love yourself
…not more than yourself.

Because you can’t give
What you never had.

Self-love—
Is the greatest love of all.

Love your neighbour as yourself is a must. We just have to. Remember the story of the good samaritan.

This poem really resonates with me. Self-love is something we often overlook, but it’s so important. Wearing the finest dresses or perfect makeup might be nice, but self-care and self-acceptance are truly what matter most. It’s funny how we sometimes judge ourselves before even giving ourselves a chance to love and accept ourselves as we are. The poem reminds me that we can’t pour from an empty cup, so taking care of ourselves is the first step. I’ve been trying to be more mindful of my self-care lately, and it feels like such a small but meaningful change. It’s incredible how just acknowledging our wins and losses, being true to ourselves, helps build those strong relationships we value. Even though it feels a bit abstract sometimes, reading this definitely brings a smile to my face.
