Protect Girls in a World of Givers and Takers

This is very sad. There will always be two poles in the world: the givers, who raise, protect, and nurture, and the takers, who harm, destroy, and exploit. It is heartbreaking to watch young girls who rely on the world to take care of them suffer unspeakable abuses. It is more than a crime to have something as sacred as their bodies taken against their will; it is a theft of their identity, their trust, and their hopes for the future.
Because we are empaths, these stories weigh heavily on our souls as well as our minds. These girls are worthy of protection, healing, and hearing. It is our responsibility to vigorously advocate for their safety in this dysfunctional system.
1. Instill in them a sense of self-worth and voice: Girls need to know that their bodies belong to them and that no one else has the authority to take them away. Knowledge is the first step toward empowerment.
2. Protect through awareness: As communities, we need to be alert to warning signs early on so that trust is never blinded, particularly when it comes to their safety and well-being.
3. Hold the takers accountable: Justice must be served by exposing the systems that fail these girls. No more silence.
To those who provide—to those who shelter, teach, and nurture—continue to be the light. Remember this, takers: nothing that is stolen survives forever. In order to close this gap, we must create a society in which no girl is left defenseless, where dreams are not robbed, and where trust is not betrayed.
Let us continue to communicate, share, and hold one another accountable. Every girl is entitled to a healthy, secure, and independent life.
