Potiskum LGA of Yobe State is set to participate in the 47th Kaduna International Trade Fair as part of ongoing efforts by the Yobe State Government under Governor Mai Mala Buni and the Executive Chairman of Potiskum LGA, Hon. Salisu Muktari, to reposition agriculture as a profitable, business-driven sector and a catalyst for sustainable economic growth.

The international trade fair will provide a strategic platform for the exhibition of solid minerals, agricultural produce, indigenous cultural heritage, and locally fabricated machines, all aimed at promoting local content development, attracting investment, and accelerating agricultural modernization.

Potiskum LGA’s participation in the 47th edition follows its remarkable performance at the 46th Kaduna International Trade Fair, where the local government recorded outstanding success and earned prestigious awards and commendations for excellence, innovation, and impactful representation. That achievement underscored the effectiveness of policies and grassroots interventions championed by Gov. Buni and implemented at the local level by Hon. Salisu Muktari to transform agriculture into a viable and profitable enterprise.

As one of the 17 local government areas in Yobe State, Potiskum LGA remains a leading commercial and industrial hub, endowed with abundant solid mineral resources, fertile agricultural land, and a growing pool of creative and innovative individuals capable of driving value addition and modern agricultural practices.

The theme of the 47th Kaduna International Trade Fair, “From Reforms to Results: Economic Transformation through Sustained Local Content Development,” aligns strongly with the vision of the Buni administration to empower farmers, strengthen agro-value chains, and promote private sector participation in the agricultural economy.

Potiskum LGA’s participation is therefore expected to open new opportunities for partnerships, market access, and investment, while further projecting the local government as a model for grassroots-driven economic transformation in Yobe State and Nigeria at large.
