The Potiskum local government area agricultural department has now achieved a high level of security and good governance following the commitment of Hon. Salisu Muktari, the executive chairman of Potiskum local government area.
The fact that the agricultural sector (Agric-department) is a sector that benefits the good people of the local government area directly and it's very important in bringing about policies that will greatly help in boosting the economy, creating jobs and developing stability and a good social system in Potiskum local government area made the chairman committed to restructuring it and improving its structure.
Before the arrival of the executive chairman, Hon. Salisu Muktari, the Agric Department of the local government was more like a deserted hut, not a government department. But after his arrival, he created a good system that allows the workers and officials of the Agric Department to carry out their duties in safety and security.
The chairman fenced the department and created a good system of monitoring and providing support that will benefit farmers from all sectors and agencies across Nigeria just to improve agricultural activities and fulfil Governor Buni's vision of seeing agriculture and livestock activities benefiting to revive the economy and make Yobe state valuable in the eyes of the world.
The Executive chairman also provided a quality agricultural equipment and monitored experts in agriculture to bring new varieties of plants that will be suitable for the local government and produce good agricultural products and are very rich to fight food shortages and provide the good people of Potiskum Local Government and Yobe State with good agricultural products.
Head of Agric A.M. Jajere said that "We have no doubt or concern when we send a proposal or request to our executive chairman, Hon. Salisu Muktari, as he is always considering the importance of the matter to the good people of Potiskum local government area and issuing an order for payment or purchase immediately.
"He has prioritised our sector, changed the structure of our group and provided us with a smooth operation, and we have emerged from the dust and noise we were in before. We must appreciate this effort because it has a direct impact on the lives of the people and the economy of our state, and the chairman has solved almost a large part of any problem that could cause a setback in this sector." He said.
