Ogi and Akamu are fermented cereal-based porridges that are popular in West Africa, especially in Nigeria. They are essentially the same dish but called different names depending on the region. Ogi (also called Akamu or Pap) is made from fermented grains such as corn (maize), millet, or sorghum.
