My weapon.

My pride.
I spoke but
Couldn't recognize me.
I said a word but
Didn't know it was me.
Why couldn't I
Recognize me?
Why couldn't I
Know it was me?
How can I know the
Cough of my mother?
How can I know the
Sound of my sisters?
How can I know when
My brother speaks?
How can I know when
Others speak?
Why can't I recognize me?
My voice is me.
Me is my voice.
I should recognize me.
I should know me.
Now I decide—
I will speak up.
I will know me.
I will recognize me.
I will let my voice be known.
I will not let my voice become
Unrecognizable.
I will give me the freedom to be heard.
I will give me the freedom to be seen.
I will give me the freedom to know me.
I will be me.
My voice will not be taken from me.
Because my voice is not borrowed—
It's mine.
