Now what I see here is that;is not that the guy can't get the ring but the lady kind of choice is what the guy can't get(meaning the lady chooses an expensive ring)..So now,all i see here is an understanding that should be done from both parties,the lady could get the ring although it'll bring down the man's ego but it depends on how both understand there selves.

I don't think the lady picked an expensive ring.. it doesn't necessarily means that she choosed an expensive ring. we all have taste and choice so somehow perspective I think the lady should have collected the ring first then maybe down the line she can ask the husband to change it for her..

But she never did, instead she chose to get what she taste for.. Moreover,you can't give a guy a ring you bought for him to use it and propose to you!.. Who does that?.
