MEMORIES OF ONCE A TIME

A chilly morning, birdsong fills the air
A sweet refrain,as nature's beauty takes hold again,A NEW DAY
Clearing, washing, milking
All chores, TIRESOME THEY WERE BUT unity WINS
Chilly? THE FREEZING COLD WON'T STOP US
WE TEAMED IN FIVES AND SEVENS
THRONG THE RIVER,
WHAT A BEAUTY OF UNITY
A gentle stream meanders, through the glade
AND AS WE FETCH AND SPLASH THE WATER
THE JOY REKINDLES
THE PURITY OF THE WATER BINDS US
As we enjoy and bond
A connection deep, a sweet embrace THE BEST OF TIMES
Beneath a canopy
With friends like family, by our side
Sharing secrets, dreams untold
A bond unbreakable, growing bold AND SOLID
Chasing shadows, day by day HOPING THE BEST COMES OUR WAY
The singing games, swimming
Mountain climbing, we would explore the world so wide
With laughter echoing through the air
Time may pass and life may change
But memories linger, ever strange
Childhood friends, a special tie
Across Africa, our spirits soared, in tales of heroes.
THE BEST WE WERE
THE BEST WE REMAIN

One thing that inspired me to write this poem is the great and joyous moments we had when young , despite the present age they still lnger in mind
