It wasn't really the rain

Outside in the rain,
I parted my lips to taste the drops but oh salty.
Then I realized the hot liquid from my lids wasn’t just a mirage,
that my face wasn’t bathed only with the raindrops,
that the knots in my belly wasn’t just the chills of the rain,
that my rapid pants weren’t that I danced to the rhythm of the drops.
Truthfully, it wasn’t really the rain,
the illusion paints were almost exhausted and I was slowly embracing reality.
I couldn’t paint the false drops no more,
Hard as I tried, my brushes weren’t yielding
“is this the end for me?” I asked the skies.
But they were silent and I knew the time had come.
