Glow of Childhood.

In a time long past, where laughter rang,
Innocence danced, and our childhood sang.
With no screens to tether, just skies aglow,
We played in the sun, where wild breezes blow.

Ludo and whot, we gathered to play,
Eyo and canters brightened each day.
Stolen tires rolled in delightful flight,
And boris and soccer lit up the night.

Evenings of friendship, as daylight would wane,
We chased shadows, embraced by the rain.
Block rosaries forged in the laughter we'd share,
Catholic or not, all gathered with care.

Quarrels would stir like storms in the air,
But love was our anchor, so pure, so rare.
I remember Willi Willi and its haunting song,
Tales by Moonlight, where stories belonged.

House of Fuji warmed hearts through the night,
Face to Face, and Super Story, our delights.
Cock Crow at Dawn, stories that soared,
Maria de los Angeles we fervently adored.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and Revenge of the Dog,
Papa Ajasco and Samanja, a sweet jog.
"Binta and Friends," oh, how memories glow,
The echoes of youth still tug at my soul.

Through neighbors' windows, we'd watch with pride,
On floors with friends, our joy couldn’t hide.

With coins in our pockets, 50 kobo dreams,
Five naira was treasure, or so it would seem.
Oaths of forever, in friendship we’d trust,
In a boundless world, so young, wild, and just.

We waited for Christmas, new clothes in tow,
In a fabric of life, joy overflowed.
Ah, the good old days, how I long to return,
Yet memories flicker, like embers they burn.

As children still play in this tech-laden age,
I smile at their laughter, my heart turns a page.
Though time keeps advancing, I cherish each glance,
For echoes of innocence still lead me to dance.
