... "We realized that the mad dog we were breeding after it bit a child, so we took it to the veterinary clinic of Potiskum LGA," Hajiya Amina.

The executive chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, has revived the old dilapidated veterinary clinic of Potiskum LGA, and now the problems and threats to animal husbandry in the local government area are being addressed.

Following the reform and restructuring, the clinic has become a vital part of saving the lives of people and animals in Potiskum LGA.

In the past, there was no vaccine to remove the venom from the teeth of some animals, so people had to rush to the neighboring states or local government areas, which has become a threat to the residents of the local government area as different animals are being bred for the benefit of the community.

Hajiya Amina, who lives in Arikime, praised Hon. Salisu Muktari, who revived the veterinary clinic after discovering that she was breeding a rabid and mad dog there after it bit a child.

"I am happy and commend the Executive Chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, for reviving veterinary services in our Potiskum Local Government Area.

"I was breeding a dog to ensure security in my house and my neighborhood. One day the dog became a threat in the area as it bit one child. I woke up and called the security forces, and we took the child to the hospital to deworm the dog.

"After we arrived at the hospital, the security forces ordered me to take the dog to the veterinary clinic of Potiskum LGA to ensure his health and to inject him with anti-venom. We immediately took him to the veterinary clinic, where they finally vaccinated him and quarantined him. After the quarantine, they discovered that the dog was rabid and a mad dog." She said,

Understanding such problems to prevent them is very important for the betterment of the community.
