



Hon. Salisu Muktari's SSA on Transport and Energy Engages UMAPO, Reaffirms Commitment to Orderly Markets and Efficient Transport

The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Transport and Energy to Hon. Salisu Muktari has paid a familiarization visit to the United Marketers Association of Potiskum (UMAPO), aimed at reinforcing cooperation between government and organized market stakeholders in the Potiskum Local Government Area.
Addressing the leadership of the association, the SSA underscored the importance of sustained partnership in improving transportation management, ensuring proper market organization, and strengthening the capacity of traders to contribute meaningfully to the local economy.
He also noted that collaboration with UMAPO would help address traffic challenges around market areas while promoting discipline, efficiency, and economic sustainability.
The visit was conducted under the platform of Hon. Salisu Muktari’s SSA Forum, with the SSA on Transport and Energy serving as chairman, accompanied by other members of the forum, including Hon. Sale Shuddi, SSA on Livestock Development; Hon. Ibrahim Iliyasu, SSA on Water Resources; Hon. Habu Maina Jiji, SSA on Rural Integrated Development; and Mal. Ibrahim M. Nura, Special Assistant on Information and Communication.
In their response, the UMAPO leadership expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a clear indication of inclusive and people-oriented governance.
They also praised the Executive Governor of Yobe State and the Executive Chairman of Potiskum Local Government for their dedication to maintaining peace, unity, and economic progress, particularly in the areas of trade development and market revitalization.
The association assured the SSA Forum of its willingness to collaborate fully in implementing policies and initiatives aimed at improving market efficiency, enhancing commercial activities, and promoting sustainable development across the Potiskum Local Government Area.
