The executive chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, has sympathies with the people of Old Prison, Filin Mashe, Anguwar Makafi, and other flood-affected areas in Potiskum LGA.

Potiskum Local Government Area experienced flooding in some areas last night due to heavy rains that occurred overnight, which caused damage to many properties but no loss of life as of yet.

The Chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, sympathized and sent a delegation to the affected areas to provide emergency relief and to invite or inform the authorities to provide appropriate assistance.

"Subhanallah, today the people of Potiskum woke up in fear and panic following the severe flooding that has engulfed many of our areas in this Local Government Area.

"I am using this opportunity to express my sympathies to the victims and assure them that after the visit by our representatives of the Local Government Area, we will provide immediate assistance to alleviate the suffering of our people and to attract the attention of responsible and non-governmental organizations to help.

"Then at the local government level, we will take steps to end or prevent this from happening in the future." Said Hon. Salisu Muktari.
