The executive chairman of Potiskum local government area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, with the representatives of Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), handed over the Buni Food Basket to the victims of Potiskum Phone Centre.

The Yobe State Government under H.E. Hon. Mai Mala Buni FCIA, CON, COMN has pledged to provide relief to the victims of Potiskum Phone Centre to alleviate their suffering following the incident that hit the phone vendors.

The state government has provided various assistance, including a sum of N10,000,000, while the local government has pledged to provide adequate land and a fence to provide security and a sound management system for the phone vendors.

The executive chairman, who is represented by his vice chairman, Hon. Adamu Hamza Ngojin, confirmed that there is additional support and called on market leaders to be fair in selecting those who are eligible, that is, those affected, to benefit from the support.

"I assure you that some good things are coming because the Yobe State Government, in partnership with Potiskum Local Government Area, is ready to ensure that your business is facilitated and improved.

"Then we will confirm our commitment to provide land and surround it with modern buildings to give you good security and a sound system for running your businesses without any problem." Said Hon. Adamu Hamza Ngojin, Vice Chairman of Potiskum LGA

He also called for justice in finding those affected to benefit from the assistance.

"I am telling you to do what is right and give to those who deserve it, those who have lost their properties or have been injured in this incident, because justice is what is called leadership." Hon. Adamu Ngojin Added
