Hon. Salisu Muktari Hands Over Agricultural Inputs to Councillors Under "Buni Agricultural Empowerment Phase II" for Distribution to Farmers in Potiskum LGA

The Executive Chairman of Potiskum LGA, Hon. Salisu Muktari, with the Agricultural Inputs Distribution Committee, handed over modern farming equipment provided by Gov. Mai Mala Buni under the “Buni Agricultural Empowerment Phase II” to the ten ward councillors for onward distribution to farmers in their wards.
The distributed items included power tiller machines, thresher machines, hand push planters, sprayers, and agrochemicals.
Each councillor received the items on behalf of their wards with the directive to ensure that eligible farmers benefit from the empowerment program in line with the governor’s directive to strengthen agriculture.
Speaking at the handover, the Head of the Agricultural and Natural Resources Department of Potiskum LGA, Abubakar Muhammad Jajere, who represented the Executive Chairman, said:
“On behalf of the Executive Chairman of Potiskum Local Government, who could not personally attend this exercise due to official reasons, I hereby present these agricultural inputs to you, the councillors, as representatives of your people, under the directive of the Chairman.
"This initiative is in line with the commitment of His Excellency, Governor Mai Mala Buni, towards boosting agriculture, ensuring food sufficiency, and creating employment opportunities for the good people of Yobe State.” He said.
The ten councillors who received the items commended the initiative and pledged to distribute the equipment fairly and transparently to farmers in their wards.
Farmers expressed appreciation for the intervention, describing it as timely and a major step toward easing farming challenges and enhancing food production in Potiskum and beyond.
