The executive chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, congratulates the executive governor of Yobe State, H.E. Hon. Mai Mala Buni, FCIA, CON, COMN, on receiving an award and traditional title.
On 17th April, 2025, the Governor of Yobe State, H.E. Hon. Mai Mala Buni, FCIA, CON, COMN, received an AWARD from the Society of Neuroscientists of Africa (SONA), which they titled “Honorary Membership and Hall of Fame Induction.”
The governor was also conferred with the traditional title of “Sardaunan Fune” by the Fune Emirate, where representatives of the Fune Emirate presented the traditional title certificate to His Excellency the governor at the state government house in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital.
The chairman said that this followed the prioritization and promotion of the community and traditional emirates that the Yobe State governor has focused on to improve the lives of the people and promote peace and development of the community.
"The dual award of the Fune Emirate and the award of the Society of Neuroscientist of Africa (SONA) make the governor the first person to receive such an award, which confirms his full membership in the SONA organization in Africa.
"This is a testament to his commitment and dedication to community service, especially in areas related to day-to-day administration, providing quality healthcare, and promoting cultural and traditional emirates," said Hon. Salisu Muktari.
The chairman also commended the Yobe State Government, led by Governor Buni, for prioritizing health and continuing to promote the prestige of traditional emirates across Yobe State.
