The Executive Chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, has showered praises on the health workers and staff under the Yobe State Primary Health Care Management Board, commending their exceptional performance, teamwork, and dedication to service.

Hon. Salisu Muktari described the Potiskum PHC workforce as the lifeline and driving force behind the local government’s steady rise as one of Yobe State’s top performers in healthcare delivery.

His remarks followed the council’s dual recognition in the Q1 2025 IMPACT (Immunization Plus and Malaria Progress by Accelerating Coverage and Transforming Services) Leadership Challenge, where Potiskum LGA received ₦1.5 million in cash awards for its outstanding achievements in public health management and community outreach.

“This achievement is for the people of Potiskum and our hardworking health workers under the PHC Board,” Hon. Muktari said. “Their commitment, discipline, and teamwork have been the backbone of our success story. Together, we are building a stronger, healthier Potiskum.”

The council chairman reaffirmed his administration’s determination to reinvest the prize funds into strengthening healthcare infrastructure, expanding outreach programs, and sustaining community health awareness campaigns to prevent diseases and promote healthy living across the LGA.

He also commended the Yobe State Primary Health Care Management Board for its leadership and close collaboration with local councils, noting that the board’s support has been instrumental in achieving measurable progress in immunization, maternal and child health, and malaria prevention.

“Our partnership with the State PHC Board continues to yield remarkable outcomes,” he added. “Every nurse, vaccinator, and community health worker contributes to this success, and I remain deeply proud of their service to humanity.”

The IMPACT Leadership Challenge, supported by UNICEF, the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), and the Yobe State Primary Health Care Management Board, encourages innovation, transparency, and improved service delivery through healthy competition among LGAs.

The dual recognition not only honors Potiskum’s consistent achievements but also stands as a testament to Hon. Salisu Muktari’s visionary, compassionate, and people-centered leadership, which continues to inspire progress and strengthen public health systems across Yobe State.
