Hon. Salisu Muktari Attends Yobe State FRILIA Stakeholders Engagement, Sensitization, Campaign, and Dissemination of Toolkits

The executive chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, attended the Yobe State Framework for Responsible and Inclusive Land Intensive Agriculture (FRILIA) Stakeholders Engagement Sensitization, Campaign, and Dissemination of Toolkits.
The meeting, which discussed ways to modernize and expand the agricultural sector, was held to affirm the commitment of the Yobe State Government under the leadership of Hon. Mai Mala Buni FCIA CON COMN to strengthen agriculture from a craft to a profitable business and to find ways of creating strong self-reliance.
During the discussion, the chairman highlighted the importance of agriculture to the people of Potiskum and Yobe State as a whole and commended the efforts of the Hon. Governor in establishing FRILIA to strengthen and modernize agricultural practices across Yobe State.
"I would like to take this opportunity to commend the FRILIA Agency for providing the opportunity to consult and engage our stakeholders from the southern part of Yobe State, which includes our four local government areas, namely Nangere, Potiskum, Fika, and Fune.
"I would also like to welcome the participation of my fellow chairmen from the Nangere, Fika, and Fune local government areas, and I would also like to welcome the representatives from various farmers' organizations and stakeholders in the smallholder farming sectors.
"Farming and livestock are certainly very important and have created meaningful jobs for our people, including women, because many women are engaged in farming and raising poultry and fish in this local government area.
"The establishment of this agency will be of great help to our people. Therefore, on behalf of the people of the Potiskum local government area, I commend the Honorable Governor Hon. Mai Mala Buni FCIA CON COMN for establishing this agency.
"I am using this opportunity to call on our farmers to make use of the agricultural advice and strategies that this Commission has brought to the table because they are very effective in creating self-reliance and sufficient sources of income." Said Hon. Salisu Muktari.
The meeting was held at the main Town Hall of the Potiskum Local Government Area Secretariat and was attended by various farmers’ organizations, traditional rulers and stakeholders, and investment bodies in Yobe State and outside Yobe and Nigeria as a whole.
Finally, the chairman presented the toolkits to the agricultural rulers of the Fika and Potiskum emirates and a representative of the AFAN Farmers’ Association.
