NIGER'S LEGACY

The gentle breeze whispers as the current flows,
Along it's shores the natives call home
Like a mother draws close to her heart,
Birthing life to a land so vast,
Alas, I'm at the shores of Niger.

Upon the Niger's banks, the Kanji Dam stands proud,
A symbol of power, electricity endowed.
Through currents, a metaphor of relentless force,
A dance of strength, nature's determined course.

In Nigeria's name, a legacy takes flight,
Born from the Niger, bathed in its light.
A nation's identity, in the river's cradle it roots,
Alas, I'm at the shores of Niger, heritage intertwined bearing resilient shoots.
