My heart cries out like a wounded deer
Lonely, forlorn, and full of fear
Echoes of its pain ring through the night
As tears flow freely, blurring my sight
My heart cries out like a stormy sea
Tossed and turned by waves of agony
Thundering waves crash against the shore
As my heart cries out for something more
My heart cries out like a summer rain
Softly falling, yet full of pain
Reflecting all the sorrow deep inside
As my heart cries out to be my guide
My heart cries out like the autumn breeze
Whispering secrets only it perceives
Whispers of love, lost long ago
As my heart cries out, soft and low
My heart cries out like the winter snow
Muting all the pain it feels below
A blanket of cold, but also of peace
As my heart cries out, seeking release
My heart cries out, a constant refrain
A call to love, a call to heal the pain
Each cry a prayer for hope and light
As my heart cries out, through the darkest night.
