A silent transformation is unfolding across Yobe State, where the vision of Governor Mai Mala Buni is turning once-underutilized lands into thriving fields of hope and opportunity.
In Damaturu, lush banana plantations now stretch across the horizon—a vivid symbol of Yobe’s growing agricultural strength. Once known for its arid terrain, the state is gradually becoming a hub for banana production, supplying fresh produce not only within Yobe but also to neighboring Borno State and beyond.
This achievement reflects the governor’s firm commitment to diversifying the economy through agriculture. His administration has invested heavily in irrigation systems, improved seedlings, and farmers’ empowerment programs—helping hundreds of young people rediscover farming as a dignified and profitable enterprise.
“Our goal is to make Yobe an agricultural powerhouse,” Governor Buni said. “We are creating a system that sustains livelihoods, strengthens food security, and uplifts rural communities.”
Today, the transformation is visible—in the green landscapes, the renewed optimism of farmers, and the steady growth of agricultural value chains.
Governor Buni’s green vision is not only reshaping Yobe’s economy but also restoring faith in the boundless potential of the state’s fertile soil and resilient people.
