The executive governor of Yobe State, H.E. Hon. Mai Mala Buni, FCIA, CON, COMN, paid an unscheduled visit to the Ngalda modern markets project, expressed his satisfaction with the project, and assured timely completion within the contract's time frame.
The governor, who is accompanied by his deputy, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana, expressed his satisfaction and confidence in the quality of the market project.
"I am very satisfied with the standard of this project, and the contractor must show commitment to ensure the completion of the market within the stipulated time frame of the contract.
"The existence of the Ngalda market is very effective and efficient for those who are operating under a makeshift structure. Our government built this market to provide a safe and prosperous environment for business and to strengthen and expand the economy of the state.
"Our government has constructed similar markets in Yunusari and Machina towns to ensure sustainable economic growth in the areas and the state as a whole.
"I appeal to the public to ensure the quality of the market and ensure proper maintenance so that the public and state government can benefit economically from the rise in modern sources of income." He said
The Yobe State commissioner for housing, Arch. Ahmed Buba Kyari, who was around during the inspection, said the contractor executed the project in accordance with the contractual specifications and time frame.
He also confirmed that the project is in its final stages and will be ready for commissioning in a short period of time.
