The Executive Chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, has reiterated his unwavering dedication to people-focused governance, declaring that every policy, program, and project of his administration is driven solely by the desire to advance the development of Potiskum and improve the lives of its residents.
Speaking at his office, Hon. Salisu Muktari described leadership as a sacred trust that must be exercised with sincerity, accountability, and the fear of Allah.
“Allah is my witness, everything I do is for the progress of Potiskum and the collective good of our people,” he stated, reaffirming a governance philosophy rooted in service, integrity, and transparency.
He explained that his administration is implementing a deliberate grassroots development agenda aimed at strengthening critical infrastructure, stimulating local economic activities, empowering youths and women, and sustaining peace and social harmony across communities.
According to him, genuine development is measured by visible improvements in livelihoods and the creation of opportunities that enable citizens to thrive.
Hon. Salisu Muktari further noted that consultation and inclusiveness remain central to his leadership style, ensuring that community voices are reflected in decision-making, and described Potiskum as a strategic commercial hub whose growth is vital to the broader socio-economic advancement of Yobe State, assuring residents that purposeful leadership will continue to unlock its vast potential.
The chairman expressed appreciation to the people of Potiskum for their trust, support, and prayers, pledging that his administration will remain steadfast in delivering tangible dividends of democracy at the grassroots, and called on residents to sustain unity and partnership with the local government as it intensifies efforts toward sustainable development.
