Friendship

Friendship is a bridge, not a bargain,
Not built on benefits,
But bonded by belief.

Not every smile is a signal,
Not every “my guy” means my guard.
Some hands clap for you,
Others clap because you fell.

Friendship is rain on roots,
Not applause on leaves.
It grows you in silence,
Before the world sees green.

Some friends are mirrors,
They make you mindful, not mighty.
Some are shadows,
They follow your light but flee your night.

Friendship isn’t loud laughter alone;
It’s late-night loyalty,
Midnight messages,
Morning mercy when mistakes have mouths.

A friend doesn’t measure your worth by your wallet,
Or weigh your wisdom by your wins.
They stay when success stalls,
And stand when storms speak.

But truth must be told
Betrayal is born in bedrooms, not battlefields.
The deepest cuts come from familiar fingers,
From people who knew your pulse
And pressed pause.

Friendship is patience practiced,
Grace repeated,
Egos edited.
It is choosing peace over pride
Again and again.

So choose friends like farmers, not fans
Those who dig with you,
Not just dance when you bloom.

Because in a world of crowds,
A constant companion is currency.

And if you find one
Be loyal in drought,
Be humble in harvest,
And be the friend
You once prayed for.
