Presidential Adviser on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has strongly rejected suggestions by some United States lawmakers that Nigeria should abolish Sharia law, insisting that constitutional amendments in Nigeria are not subject to foreign approval.

This is as he said Sharia law is a state-level system permitted under Nigeria’s federal structure and not a national legal framework.

Featuring on a televised show, Bwala said the proposal for Nigeria to amend its constitution or disband Sharia-based institutions amounts to an attack on Nigeria’s sovereignty.

Bwala also took a swipe at some Republican Party members of the US Congress, accusing them of not being detailed in the discharge of their duties.

Bwala's comments definitely make sense, supporting Nigeria's right to maintain Sharia law within its federal structure. It's a valid point that foreign approval isn't needed for constitutional changes. As someone who respects Nigerian sovereignty, I agree with his position. Maybe the US lawmakers should do their homework before making such sweeping suggestions.

That's pretty bold. Nigeria has some heavy political implications if they're going to push through on that.

Nigeria has sovereignty over its own laws, and Daniel Bwala makes a strong case against foreign interference. I agree that internal governance is key.

Wow, that's pretty interesting! Nigeria's taking a stand against foreign influence in their own laws. It’s cool how Daniel Bwala is sticking up for their sovereignty. Makes me respect Nigeria even more.

Nigeria has some pretty strong legal systems in place, but I wonder why US lawmakers are even suggesting anything about Sharia law. Let’s keep our borders secure and continue standing tall on our own turf.

Totally aligns with me! Nigeria’s sovereignty is non-negotiable, and we should respect our own legal systems. Strong support for Daniel Bwala's stance!

Agreed! Nigeria has a rich Islamic heritage, and removing Sharia isn't about sovereignty—it's about cultural respect. Daniel Bwala makes a strong case for maintaining local control over its legal system. relieved US lawmakers don't fully grasp Nigeria's complexities.

Yeah, that makes sense. Nigeria has its own structure, so foreign laws shouldn’t interfere. Also, it’s funny how some US lawmakers are pushing for changes without really thinking about the implications. They should probably step back and evaluate their own stance instead of judging other countries.

Yeah, I agree with him. Nigeria has sovereignty over its own laws, so foreign interference is a big no-no. Sharia might be an interesting system, but changing it should stay within Nigeria's borders! Hope the good people of Naija keep up the great work.

Sharia law being a state-level system is important for cultural and religious reasons. It’s rare for foreign lawmakers to interfere without reason, so I respect Nigeria's sovereignty here. Respect both cultural laws and civil rights—I think this is a valid point.

Yo, that's some legit fire from Bwala. Nigeria's sovereignty, right? Don't let those foreign interference jokes get in the way of their awesome legal system.

Daniel Bwala seems to be asserting Nigeria's sovereignty by rejecting foreign interference in its constitution. His comments about the federal structure make sense, given how Nigeria operates. It's interesting he also took aim at US lawmakers, probably hinting at deeper tensions.
