Theme: African Childhood Memories
Chorus: My African child, my African child
Growing was really cozy and loving
Residing in environment full of sense and understanding
Growing to know the vulnerability and naivity of things was astounding
Chorus: My African child, my African child
Playing,subtly,gentle,little,little.
From my abode was accomodative
Until I have so much absorb and abhor.
Feeling deep emotions to explore like a frog
Chorus: My African child, my African younger self
Resuming the streets with my Resume
Resonating with new friends was like symphony
Running through the streets hills was like antonym
Eating childs play meals were like synonyms
Playing, dancing, rehearsing, jerking, jugging, can be sometimes bawling And sometimes bubbling
Chorus: My African child, my African younger self
Playings, which reaches the late night dusk were a blinding dust
Every lies and pretentious cries, were a crafted thought
Every continuity in the act were unintentional plots
Every persistency in the act leads to purposeful flogs
Every perseverance for the act was a purposeful thought
Every endurance was for the good cause
Chorus: My African child, my African younger self
When parents see the endurance, and perseverance, they now get the
reliance, and see the safety assurance.
And feel no more nuance
And now in unity, dwell these little ones
My African child, my African younger self.

Description: The inspiration to this poem was a vivid flashback to my childhood days at an area called Egon in Isawo Ikorodu area during this days the areas were always calm, the weather itself and the atmosphere, to now crown it up all of our neighbors were nothing but the best, we lived in unity and one accord, happily ever, all the children played around in great glee, knowing that they have a safe environment, everyone could attest to this it was really marvelous.☕🕯️🎨🖌️
