1/4 cup baking soda
10-15 drops essential oil (optional)
Instructions:
Combine: In a bowl, whisk together the arrowroot powder and baking soda.
Melt: Melt the coconut oil in a double boiler or in short bursts in the microwave.
Mix: Gradually add the melted coconut oil to the dry ingredients, whisking continuously until a smooth paste forms.
Add essential oils: If using, stir in your chosen essential oils.
Store: Transfer the deodorant to a clean container. Store at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
Essential Oil Suggestions:
Lavender: Calming and soothing
Tea tree: Antiseptic and antibacterial
Grapefruit: Uplifting and refreshing
Lemon: Cleansing and invigorating.
Perfume:
Ingredients:
1/4 cup jojoba oil or fractionated coconut oil
20-30 drops essential oil blend
Instructions:
Combine: In a clean glass bottle with a dropper, add the jojoba oil or fractionated coconut oil.
Add essential oils: Carefully add your chosen essential oil blend.
Mix: Shake well to combine the oils.
Apply: Apply a few drops to your pulse points, such as wrists, neck, and behind the ears.
Essential Oil Blend Suggestions:
Floral: Rose, lavender, jasmine
Citrus: Lemon, orange, grapefruit
Woody: Sandalwood, cedarwood, patchouli
Tips:
Patch test: Before applying to your underarms, test a small amount on your inner wrist to check for any skin irritation.
Adjust consistency: If the deodorant is too thick, add a little more coconut oil. If it's too thin, add a bit more arrowroot powder.
Store in a cool, dry place: This will help to extend the shelf life of your deodorant.
