Day 1: Introduction

Well to start off my name is Princess Esther Ayibapreye Matthew, I am from Southern Ijaw local Government, Bayelsa state.

1. I am from the state with one of the largest oil rigs in Africa.
My tribe (Ijaw) are a tribe of primarily fishermen hence from living closer to the river banks.

2. Our diets consist of seafood and other land crops like plantains, cocoyam, bushmeat, water yam, palm tree maggots, starch etc. Just like how in different parts of Africa worships other deities my tribe worships the sea-gods and goddesses, making sacrifices and rituals to them for protection and wealth.

3. Although I am primarily Ijaw, I have ancestory linked to the Igbo tribe of south east Nigeria thanks to my great grandmother.
My heritage is wonderful and I am so proud to be from here.
