Located on South Rainbow Boulevard, Las Vegas, Nevada, the Calabash African Kitchen specializes in serving tentalizing African cuisines that tickle the taste buds of both chef and customer.

The name -Calabash African Kitchen takes its name from the calabash gourd (or bottle gourd) used across West Africa as a dishe, musical instruments and more.

This kitchen is prepares native Senagaleae and Gambian cuisines one of which is Jollof rice often served family-style from a calabash. Jasmine rice is used to prepare this cuisine. Vegetables and the rice are simmered in a spiced tomato sauce that includes a West African pepper condiment made ball peppers, ginger, garlic, meat stock and other ingredients.

This kitchen also gives room for Chicken, fish and beef to be added to enhance its rich flavour.

The Calabash African Kitchen also prepares peanut soup made from a lusty peanut stew, tomato paste, peanut butter, onions, bell peppers, habaneros, onions and water all make up this mix. It is often served with white rice or fufu.

Egusi soup, a cuisine of Nigerian origin, ranks among the most famous of West African dishes. Egusi paste (from ground melon seed), water, palm oil, red bell pepper, onions and scallions, all start the mix for this soup.

Additionally, Bitter leaf, smoked fish, goat or beef, fish, goat or cow’s foot stock can be added to enrich it's flavor and sweetness. Melon soup served at the Calabash African Kitchen is served with swallow or Fufu.
