The All Progressives Congress (APC) has once again reaffirmed its confidence in Gov. Buni by reappointing him as Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee for the party’s 2026 National Convention.
The reappointment further consolidates Gov. Buni’s long-standing presence at the heart of the party’s national affairs. He previously served as Secretary of the National Convention Planning Committee and also chaired the APC National Reconciliation Committee—roles widely credited with strengthening internal cohesion and stabilizing the party during critical periods.
Under the committee’s Terms of Reference, Gov. Buni will oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive communication strategy for the convention, manage media relations, coordinate the accreditation of journalists, produce publicity materials, and supervise press briefings and live coverage of the event.
His assignment places him once again at the center of shaping how the party communicates with its members and the wider public.
In addition to chairing the Media and Publicity Committee, Gov. Buni will also serve as Secretary of the National Convention Planning Committee, a dual responsibility expected to enhance coordination between planning and public communication while promoting transparency and internal harmony throughout the convention process.
The committees were inaugurated by the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda. Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the 2026 National Convention Committee, Aminu Bello Masari, commended Gov. Buni’s depth of experience, describing him as “an encyclopedia of political party administration.”
Masari noted that his proven expertise in party management and conflict resolution would be instrumental in delivering a seamless and widely accepted convention.
Party stakeholders view the renewed assignment as a clear endorsement of Gov. Buni’s capacity and institutional memory. His continued involvement at the national level is expected to play a decisive role in ensuring a free, fair, transparent, and credible convention, particularly in the election of members into the National Working Committee.
The reappointment underscores Gov. Buni’s enduring relevance within the APC’s national structure and highlights his sustained contribution to party unity, effective communication, and democratic consolidation.
