Agony of a tribe By Jared chimezie

Agony of a tribe, in shadows concealed
Struggling for freedom, their fate unconcealed
Hated by others, their leader confined
No release in sight, their hopes alligned

Lands captured, souls tortured and torn
Bleeding, weeping, feeling forlorn
Trees stand witness, silently weep
Mouths utter pledges, in sorrow they seep

Decent hearts confined, in cages of despair
Escape denied, without a care
Denying fathers, rejecting mother's tongue
Forced to scatter, songs left unsung

Where did we falter, where did we stray?
Innocent faces spat upon, forced to obey
Foreign thunders hired, our shoulders to crumble
Sky watches, clouds remember, echoes humbled

Blood bathed the earth, ears filled with cries
Forgotten garden, hope yet to rise
He speaks wonders, eyes wide awake
A beacon of hope, for the tribe's sake
