Trumping feet against their fallen dignity
one bold step and another
and another for our sons and daughters
and another for the unborn generation of humanity
our footprints pairs the blueprints of love and unity
a story written amidst the dust
in sweat and persistence amidst our worst
one made, a sacrifice to spell our indemnity
hands lifting another, lifting a flag
the latter which was formerly splattered blood red
my people paid with their head
a dept incured on us for lifting our father's flag
voices roaring like an angry beast
"they made our father's land a jungle
starved our children while theirs jingle,
making cheers and merry with a feast"
minds exploding with rage
fetters dropping loose
pupils on fire for every gander and goose
let it be recorded on history page
my people are unarmed
yet collectively, our voices, missiles
with hunger pangs, it travels more miles
such a peaceful people alarmed
A resistance against bad government
To be more than free prisoners
but free people and voters
breeding franchise into cultural merriment
our dried throats spits against corruption
we are poised on equity,
remorseful of our ethnocentricity
yet forging ahead, a better resolution
Morgan!! a young flag-bearer
untangling the chains of Africa
from Nigeria down through Kenya
playing my part even in a wilderness of fear
