In a continued effort to promote order and modern urban planning in Potiskum, the Committee on the Removal of Illegal Structures set up by the administration of Hon. Salisu Muktari has conducted a comprehensive site inspection across major roads and pedestrian walkways within the town.
The inspection was aimed at ensuring full compliance with the directive introduced by the Chairman, which requires the removal of illegal structures obstructing roads and walkways as part of the local government’s ongoing urban renewal initiative.
During the exercise, the committee visited several strategic locations to assess the level of compliance by residents and traders with the policy designed to decongest roads, improve traffic flow, and create safer spaces for both motorists and pedestrians.
The team comprised security personnel, traditional rulers, and officials from the Works Department of the Potiskum Local Government Council, reflecting the administration’s coordinated approach toward implementing policies that enhance public safety and environmental order.
This exercise underscores the strong commitment of Hon. Salisu Muktari to reposition Potiskum through proactive leadership, improved infrastructure management, and policies aimed at building a cleaner, safer, and more organized local government.
Residents have also been urged to continue supporting the initiative, which is widely seen as a key step in the chairman's vision of transforming Potiskum into a well-structured and development-oriented municipality.
