A Lement Of a Forgotten Daughter Of The Dark Skies

With the purest black woman under dire attack,
Her co-wives transformed to treacherous nightmares,
It all began as a sweet, melodic track,
But ended in darkness, drowning in tearful layers.
Her joy crushed in the mire of sorrow,
Male children enslaved in the modern age,
Defending their masters, burdened by care,
While her daughters serve on a colonial stage.
Fertile farmlands reduced to grazing ground,
Her waterways now ruled by robbers' hands,
Breast milk meant for her own, yet unbound,
Given as sustenance to oppressive lands.
Her cry echoes far, unnoticed, unhealed,
Tears flowing freely, streets left aglow,
In the hushed bush, treacherous plans concealed,
Hope dwindles, as echoes of anguish grow.
In the web of doom, her plea is lost,
Chasing ancestors’ shadows that recede,
With her chi seemingly but a ghost,
Sorrow reigns, hope stolen by those in need.
The earth trembles, trees bow in sorrow,
Men's weary yawns blend with babies' cries,
The symphony of grief we cannot borrow,
As the black woman's plight leaves us hypnotized.
