A King Amongst Mortals By Jared chimezie

In a realm where royalty's whispering wing
Resides a king, to whom we should cling
Unrecognized in his homeland, under foreign skies
Yet worshipped in lands where reverence lies

With a sacred heart, devoid of pride's shroud
A humble crowned king, on a cot ride, unbowed
Never boasting of a Golden physique so spry
But embracing a human form, lowly nearby

He understood our aches, tendered to our joys
Saw through our sorrows, smiled at our ploys
Welcomed with palm fronds, the red carpet's song
Eventually entwined in a deadly, somber throng

His body our bread, his blood our wine divine
His tears, like a spring, quenching souls entwined
In his death, finds our peace, tranquility's lease
A king of kings, in eternal bliss, never to cease
