“Yesteryears when thou wast not conceived" Grandma would say.
It was nothing as beautiful compared to your new world
Television, phone, internet; we had none
Yet I beat my chest and say ‘we had a better life.’

The drums beat aloud as thunder
Under the moon as bright as day
We gather as one
We called it ‘EGWU ONWA'
A place of peace
A place of folktale
A place of unity

“Those day as a child” She said again
Was the colorful days of my youth
Nights I long for
Nights am thankful for
Nights your generation never saw

The bonfire that burns like the red light of the setting sun.
Together we surrounds it in circle of unity.
Ears wide open as stories of old are birthed.

“As tender as we were” She said once again
Nothing gave more joy than;
'ÍKPO OGA'
The leg movements as alert as chamois
The handclaps collide like two trains on a single track.
The rhythm of ‘Tempe tempe’ were pleasant to the ears
The smiles of winning are as cheerful as a rainbow after a storm.
Nothing can be compared to those moments.

SHORT DESCRIPTION:
Of blessed memories of my loving granny. Those days when she can't stop with tales of their own yesteryears and of a different her world and ours were.
