A CANDLE IN DAYLIGHT BY E I VICTOR (SIR WRITE MAN)

I was a good leader
A man of vision and integrity
Decisive and adaptable
Passionate and accountable
Innovative and respectful
At least, I did my best

But yet,
They complained and criticized
Gossiped and spread rumours
They undermined my authority
Took me for granted
Focused on my minor mistakes
Resisted change
They showed ingratitude and abandon ship

I later discovered
That I was nothing but a candle shinning in daylight
To them, I had a dim appearance
So I was hard to notice
I was overpowered by my surroundings

My efforts were unseen because my light was hard to notice
My Value was underappreciated
I was drown by criticism
My impact couldn't travel far in daylight
My ambience was reduced
To wrap it all , it was a silent scarifice
Because daylight overshadowed my light
I know they'll definitely look for
But that will be when darkness overshadows them
But it may be too late
