DESIROUS OF HOME

I want to go home, but how do I when I’ve taken a loan,
In an enclave-dome, not meant for me alone.

My clothes have been torn, and all my efforts gone.
So every night and day, I pray let thy kingdom come,
And I pray this battle be won, though many evil I’ve done,
But now I repent of some, for I know, no one builds in a day a good home.

No more sweetness do I feel, in my greatness and skill,
I pray this bitterness kill, that my fairness be not turned to ill,
For so long this blindness I’ve had to still,
Lest I would have raised the alert when I saw them steal,
And carried out those deeds which swapped identities paid the bill,
For their crimes and necromancy practiced for diplomacy,
Oh please pass me the pill,
To ease the war in my heart, for democracy they play us dem-no-can-see and our sanity they spill
Oh what a brain kill and soul peel,
Cutting off our ankles, they asked us to hasten our heel,
For theirs and their generations’ fortunes we’re conscripted to reel.

My heart is heavy, and weary of negligence, yet my anguish you don’t feel,
You encumber me with levy; with your intelligence, you furnish my woes to your fill,
You rick wealth yet reek of envy; for the tranquility I rock with no decadence, so you rack my endeavours and the truth conceal,
This is slavery of my diligence, oh how you enjoy churning me on a grill
You call it bravery making a foolery of our beneficence, oh what a kill

That seal was signed in privy, without my indulgence, now you question if the blood I bleed is real,
So I rise in a jiffy, cursing my dependence, building my dream home is a done deal,
I pity my seeds spurn on this wheel of ill will,
But surely I recall neither this blueprint nor my signature on this seal,
I’m desirous of a home where perhaps I could heal,
The world from these ills at will for there’s no home without a deal and will.

Yes! I’m desirous of Nigeria becoming this home,
Where gratification for hardwork is sown, where integrity is grown and where peace, love, faith, unity and equity are shown.I’m desirous of a home where depth of understanding is known.
A home where we could all be one,
A home where bias, creed, greed, ethnicity, despotism and nepotism are gone,
A home where we gather together in harmony for fun,
A home where culprits pay dearly by themselves for crimes and ills done,
A home where I’ll not fight these vices alone,
Yes! I’m desirous of Nigeria becoming a home for you, me and our generations yet unborn.
…for this is reasoning.
