Theme: Mental Health In An Unequal World

IMBALANCES

The universe always seeks a balance,
whether or not our thoughts are weighted;
Whether or not it leaves a depression
- imprints on our minds;
the pressure
Doesn't even care if we're aided

So we try to balance the scales,
to even
our collective sanity
To rid our minds off the choke of anxiety
To exhale stress,
erasing the furrows above our brows
stroking
the faint lines of insanity

But life doesn't always go our way,
even though
we keep playing the warden
For some times,
disaster just chooses to strike and trauma just
seems to pull up sudden

So to this end we begin advocacy,
for safeguarding
the human mind and psyche
For discerning the early signs rightly
For seeking therapeutic advice,
hitting the
nail on the head precisely

Yes, for the sake of the multitude who need our help,
we desist from taking this issue lightly

So with heavy hearts we lay the weights off our chests
and quench the flames of our cigars
Breaking the syringes and stitching the slitted wrists;
fashioning strength from outliving our killers:

The depression and drugs
The trauma - its scourge
The mania that so easily besets us,
even from
the slightest of words

For the world is against us
and the battle is on
Yes the war is upon us
A need to even the score
True our health is important
and its soundness a must
But our wellness is pricey,
do whatever it costs
