She Stole the Day
She stole the day
Eclipsing the sun with her gait
Hair flowing over her shoulders
Like the wings of a cherub
Illuminating in her own way
We were blinded by her brightness
All of us captivated in a moment
So she stole the day
But not like the moon
She made us swoon
Not with beauty alone
But with brilliance and wits
She struck beaming like lightning
And she stole the day
Like butter in hot bread
She melted her way into our hearts
With sweet voice and pretty smile
while we were carried away
Losing reason to charm
She stole the day
Leaving the shadow of night
And fears of darkness
We were loving but thoughtless
She was cold and heartless
But yet gave her all
Its still hard to believe
Nor understand why
She stole the day
