Those special legumes
From the fabacea family
With a shape like my kidney
One special food I love much
A gift from our maker
Specifically made for me
Packaged with several nutrients
Helps me grow taller than my friends
How well you go with garri
Filling every space in my tummy
I'd choose you served with bread
Rather than fried turkey instead
When served as moimoi and akara
Makes my head go "bam ba ka ta"
Ever amazing are those taste
I don't mind sitting for hours
Picking up those rocks and gravels
I must be use to it by now
Though the rumbling and grumbling
You cause after consuming you
Sometimes in my porthole
Causing a disorder
I will not blame you, you're only
Trying to feel at home down there
Feel free and digest your way out
Funny how you get me running often
Hiding from people's presence
In order to release those explosive farts
And enjoy the pleasant smell afterwards
My regards to your cousins
From the Black eyed peas to the great Northern and Chickpeas, Miss pinto
Kidney beans and matured soya
Also to your brother in the force(Navy beans)
Give me a black bean breakfast bowl
I'll give you my bank card and my pin
For a bowl of beans a day
Keeps all sorrows away
