BROKEN ENLARGEMENTS
We both had this "big picture",
too big
to fit into our frame
Visions and dreams stretched beyond
scopes and borders,
a confinement of
crumpled paper and pane;
A legless portrait
staring with an expression of sorrow,
emotions
crutched up for the lame
Your beating heart raced for the
dotted line,
ignored the tracks that brought the train
Now all that's left
is the dust over our once happy faces,
our smiles drowned out in my tears
My heart,
kissed by many knives;
red lipsticks,
stale from previous years;
The unchaste's found upon your collar:
A man's scent
between your breasts;
Purse with wads of hundred dollars,
his fingerprints on your skirt
But I didn't quit on loving you,
although it hurt as hell
Seeing my wife in arms that weren't mine,
lips locked - my love retailed
Thought we said those vows together,
thought you said you wouldn't leave?
Thought you said, you're mine forever,
thought you said, you're mine only?
So what's happened to you Rosie,
what was there I didn't give?
Don't you care about lil Jackie,
don't your care about our kids?
It hurts so much that you're leaving,
why are you pushing for this?
Our baby girl needs her momma, babe,
can't do this alone please
