SYNCRETISM: A Tale Of Two Tales

So he crushed discord in the palms of his hands
and handed each a kola
Schnapps spewed on the fronds;
libations offered to the clayed deity of dissension,
ablutions performed to the gods

Yes, outburst was a man of tradition,
his lips always incanting the curses;
a mouth full of invectives, hands
unrestrained from holding the bits of his horses

So like a mad man he ran wild with words; reviling
Staff thumping on the loose earth with
every pronouncement, his tongue
invoking the fierceness of both fire and lightning;
he was violent

But bitterness was rather pious:
Head hanging low, pew's front row, hands cupped
into a bowl, sipping
revenge from the brims of a rusty chalice;
A goblet of antiquity;
a relic dusted and reserved for the binge of malice

Thus he sat, turgid:
His belly filled with the fat of hypocrisy and lies
Eyes bolted in vengeance, smiles
hinged upon obsequies;
A grin and a rose each for everyone who dies;
A tearless face fixed upon the grey of the gloomy skies,
he was ruthless:

An introverted side of a vengeful anger,
he was masked into character
to give off that bland look of a gentle stranger;
Supposed the “harmless cousin" of outburst,
his melancholy
was just a temperamental feint ,
cos both swings couldn't be any crueler

So follicles of similar sizes,
the both were taken out of the same pod
And as to whether or not extremist,
they were still
devout worshippers of the same damn god
